Silver Plate 8 1/2” Water Pitcher with Ice Guard. Little is known about the origin of this handsome, unbranded silver plate water pitcher with ice guard. It has been in service, by the examination of its interior. The water staining isn’t obvious, because it is uniform, with a soft patina. The body of this 2pound, 7 ounce pitcher is, however, in very good condition. One side shows a linear scratch that starts and stops, is very short, and is hardly noticeable. Its lack of anticipated, normal
scratching and the visual of its body surface that polishes up perfectly is impressive. The handle shows a few bits of spots of silver that has eroded. The pitcher could have been intended for the foodservice industry, where serving pieces are made to impress, while being serious service objects. This water pitcher was built to last. It stands 8 1/2” tall and is 7 1/2” wide from ice spout to handle. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.
